In the News:

TxDOT Releases Feasibility Study - In 2005 the Texas Department of Transportation hired Turner, Collie & Braden to conduct a feasibility study of the proposed Wirtz Dam Road Bridge.  The results of that study indicated that the cost benefit to taxpayers was insufficient for TxDOT to construct this new thoroughfare.  Alternative funding will need to be arranged by Burnet County if this much needed alternative for regional mobility is going to be achieved.  To view the complete Report from TC&B, click here.

"A Blueprint for Workforce Housing", an affordable housing study being conducted by the Hill Country EDC, the Building Industry Assocation of the Highland Lakes and Texas A&M's Mays School of Business has completed its second phase .  In 2005, a second group of MBA candidates made substantial improvments in our computer model effecting a more accurate and much more user friendly tool for projecting housing needs in our region.  For more information visit our website dedicated to this study: BIA-EDC HOUSING STUDY
